About

Your Path Back to Communication and Confidence.

Chasity Roberts is a medical speech-language pathologist specializing in adult neurological rehabilitation. Since 2017, her work has focused exclusively on helping adults recover communication, cognition, voice, and swallowing abilities, following neurological illness or injury. Today, her approach centers on evidence-based therapy that prioritizes functional outcomes and meaningful participation in daily life. Chasity is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) through the Brain Injury Association of America and holds advanced certifications in LSVT LOUD and SPEAK OUT!®, specialized programs designed to improve communication and voice for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease. 💡 When to Seek Speech Therapy After a Brain Injury or Neurological Diagnosis 🧠 Speech therapy can play an important role in recovery and quality of life after a neurological diagnosis. Many individuals and families are surprised to learn that speech-language pathologists treat far more than speech alone. Neuro-focused speech therapy addresses changes in communication, thinking skills, voice, and swallowing that may occur after conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, or other neurological disorders. You may benefit from speech therapy if you or a loved one is experiencing difficulty finding words, forming sentences, or understanding conversations, changes in memory, attention, organization, or problem solving, or speech that sounds slurred, slow, or difficult to understand. Therapy can also help individuals whose voice has become quieter, weaker, or more difficult to project, which is common in Parkinson’s disease and other neuro-degenerative conditions. In addition, many neurological disorders affect swallowing, leading to coughing during meals, food or liquids “going down the wrong way,” difficulty chewing, or the sensation of food sticking in the throat. These symptoms can impact safety, nutrition, and overall health if left untreated. Neuro-Aligned Speech Therapy focuses on restoring and strengthening the skills needed for everyday life. Early intervention can make a meaningful difference, and therapy can also be highly beneficial months or even years after the original injury or diagnosis. If you or a loved one has noticed changes in communication, cognition, voice, or swallowing, a comprehensive evaluation by a neuro-specialized speech-language pathologist can help identify the underlying challenges and create a personalized plan to support recovery and independence.
